THE ROLE
The Performance Manager has full ownership of the Flight planning department operations on a shift-by-shift basis. The role is responsible for monitoring the operational performance of the business whilst communicating effectively to the Department Manager, Senior Cargo Duty Manager, Flight Planners, SAP Planners and other departments when required. This role involves coaching and performance management of the Planners to drive operational performance with a focus on utilisation of aircraft and truck capacity. The Performance Manager is also responsible for providing the correct tools to allow the area to deliver defined and agreed standards and performance measures to support the growth of the business.
DUTIES
- Disciplined delivery of IAG cargo operating procedures at a local level to ensure legislative and operational compliance
- The job holder will be accountable for all offloads and the subsequent actions to prepare it for the recovery of offloaded cargo.
- Coach and support planners to run the day-to-day shift by ensuring that the environment, facilities, systems and materials are available to deliver a smooth and efficient operation
- The jobholder is accountable for all available capacity being utilised to maximise the uplift of cargo.
- Manage team of direct reports including, Performance management, including regular 1-2-1s
- Coach and develop SAP and Flight Planners to increase their skills and capabilities to ensure operational performance and productivity is optimised in the immediate and long term
- Accountable for the health, safety and security of the site whilst on shift to comply with operational and legislative requirements
- To ensure open communications with a constant feedback loop at all levels
- To ensure that the department operates to the highest standards of customer service in order to maximise customer satisfaction
- Support and take accountability for delivery of key assigned projects
- Accountable for out of hours representation of the management team covering issues around health, safety and security
- Resolves local issues with TU representatives and consults when appropriate, in a solution orientated manner
