About our client
Our client is a university student who will be studying Global Sport Business Management at Birmingham City University in September. He lives with Cerebral Palsy and is looking for someone understanding and patient, who can aide him in being as independent as possible. He loves Football and is a season ticket holder at Aston Villa. He also enjoys watching the Rugby and Formula 1. He is a big gamer, and will be taking his Xbox to Uni with him. He plays Frame Football, and was one of the original players when the sport was first set up. He has played in tournaments at St Georges Park and met some England Players!
As written by him..
"I’m 19 years old but will be 20 years old by the time I return to University in September at Birmingham City.
I have cerebral palsy which affects my ability to move and dexterity and therefore I need some additional help as a student. In fact, my cerebral palsy affects everything I do.
My cerebral palsy affects my energy levels too. I am awake and alert in a morning and get tired as the day goes on. I’m not like your typical teenager as I like to get up and get things done and tend to be in bed 10pm.
I don’t experience severe pain, but my muscles get really tight in the Winter when it’s cold and really floppy when it’s incredibly hot.
I can walk around inside independently but I use a stick for walking outside over short flat distances.
I have wheelchair for university that has a powered option too. I will need someone to push me when it’s in manual mode as I don’t have the upper body strength to do this over a long distance myself. My wheelchair will need charging and the tyres pumped up regularly.
I will need support completing assignments for University. I cannot write and need the use of a scribe to get my words down. I use voice dictation too but as I get tired with my cerebral palsy, so my voice starts to weaken and pronunciation becomes more difficult.
When you’re not needed you can just relax or work on your own stuff."
