This exciting and unique role is located in the heart of the Cotswolds at a complex of 21 acres that is currently undergoing conversion and renovation works. The property comprises of a Grade II listed farmhouse (4BR), a farm cottage (4BR), a barn (2BR), entertainment building with dining room, gym and steam room, cinema room, kitchen and outdoor pool and garage with staff apartment (1BR STUDIO).
The family has made use of the complex for 25+ years. With some of the family living in London and now others abroad, they now use it as a gathering place on occasional weekends, and for extended periods during the summer months. The intention is to rent the whole complex for peak seasonal weeks, and some individual buildings for weekend and extended stays. The property is family-owned and managed by two brothers in their thirties, who are looking to turn this into a high-standard country retreat for family, friends and guests with the occupation rate estimated to be 6-8 months of the year.
We are looking for a professional individual or partners, live-in, to oversee the smooth running and maintenance of the property. Whilst prior experience is always valued, we are open to young, less experienced individuals. You must understand the hospitality industry, be presentable, have discretion, attention to detail with a willingness to please and a desire to take pride in the property. You MUST have private household and/or hospitality experience.
Internal duties required, but not limited to:
● Housekeeping, cleaning, dusting, vacuuming
● Quick turnaround changeover days when rented (with additional assistance)
● Managing waste recycling and bins
● Caring for furniture and glassware
● Laundry & ironing
● Taking deliveries at the house
● Occasional food shopping and preparation for arrival of family and guests
● Cooking occasional healthy meals for the family when they visit, or otherwise preparing meals in advance would be an advantage, but not essential
● Ensuring presentability of house to high standard
● Guest check-in and check-out and recording of any damage and/or wear and tear
Outdoor duties required, but not limited to:
● Overseeing general day to day maintenance and odd jobs around the house and grounds
● Ensuring the outdoor pool is maintained and serviced
● Taking utility metre readings for all buildings and organising top-up of heating oil etc.
● Occasional driving duties (car provided for use during working hours)
● Cleaning of outdoor patio and furniture
● Security of the property and setting alarms/CCTV
Candidates Must Have:
● Legal right to work in UK
● Valid UK Driving License
● Excellent level of English
● Organised and meticulous
● Able to complete tasks to a high standard
● Reliable and hard working
● Flexible
● A can-do, positive attitude
● Able to work independently, show initiative and self-managing
● Confident with guests and a high level of written and oral communication in order to liaise with the family and guests and oversee bookings
● Computer literate in all aspects of Word, Excel and Email
● Physically fit, active and presentable
Salary £45,000 - £50,000 plus 1 bedroom studio accommodation
End-of-year discretionary bonus incentive
