Being a Live-in Carer offers a real sense of purpose and immense job satisfaction. During these challenging times, your role as a Live-In Caregiver could make all the difference to the life of your customer. Live-in Healthcare Assistants may also provide respite for customers who have been in hospital or deteriorated slightly and feel they need Live-In support for a short period until they recover.
You will enjoy the special privilege of living in a customer's home, keeping them safe and comfortable. You will use your excellent communication skills to build unique relationships with people from all walks of life; with different backgrounds and needs, lifestyles and personalities, and cultures.
We provide full training, support and opportunities to our amazing Live-in Carers. The role of a Live-in Carer is similar to other Care roles with one notable exception, you are not a visitor, but a key part of the household.
Duties:
- Provide assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Administer medications and assist with medication management
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs and restrictions
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning and laundry
- Assist with transportation to appointments and errands
- Engage in companionship activities and provide emotional support
- Monitor and report any changes in the client's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a caregiver or in a related field is preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
