The Job Overview
Do you enjoy the thrill of seeing a project through to delivery? We are looking for Technical Project Manager who thrives on problem-solving whilst working in a very hands on fast-paced environment, which is live events. This role would suit someone with a few years experience in a similar role or someone who is currently in a senior tech role wanting to take that next step. It will see you assist the new business team, together with managing and supervising project teams, pre-production and onsite to ensure exceptional customer service, best practice and health and safety responsibilities.
The role
- Assess and respond to new opportunities from existing and new accounts in a timely, on brand and coherent way.
- Creation of exciting designs and bespoke ideas for live events.
- Attend client meetings and site visits.
- Manage and monitor the overall budget in line with the quotation.
- Produce technical drawings to provide a detailed plan of the project for others to work from.
- Confident in calculating lens throws, lighting angles, weight loads, speaker dispersion, power draws, sight lines, power, cable runs etc
- Work with project support to allocate and organise crew, book trucking and liaise with third party suppliers.
- Liaise with venues, artists and other third parties.
- Prepare and manage health & safety documents.
- Always be looking for new business opportunities.
- Educate clients and venues on our products and services.
The person
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience in the professional live events industry.
- End to end technical project management experience in live events is essential both hybrid and in-person of all scales.
- Excellent commercial acumen, know what’s going on in the industry and what the competition are doing.
- Must be proactive in seeking out innovations in the industry that may be applied to your projects.
- Have an excellent understanding of technical event production and the effective communication skills to explain technical solutions to clients in a clear and jargon-free manner.
- Be a self-motivated team player with a passionate approach to work and the drive to achieve.
- You will have an engaging and confident personality, with high levels of emotional resilience; you lead by example at all times, responding positively and quickly to change and pace, whilst keeping a cool head under pressure.
- Must have an eye for detail and high standards of presentation.
- Full UK Driving Licence and own transport.
Working hours
Due to the nature of our industry, we require our employees to have a flexible approach to their working hours. We always try hard to manage a work life balance of our team.
Typically, your working day would be 9 – 6 with 1 hour paid lunch break, working a 5 day week which could include weekends. Work outside these hours will be required to meet the needs of our business and this role.
