- As a Live Booker you will predominantly be responsible for all aspects of the Live comedy bookings in our artists busy diaries, in line with their personal and company-led progression.
- You will also handle corporate bookings, work in progress, tour show warmups and support slots, help produce live shows and book in new material / trial spots where necessary.
- The candidates will need to liaise with venue managers and promoters, tour managers, other talent agencies, corporate leads and be the first port of call for any live enquiries.
- Daily tasks will include negotiating fees, managing the busy diaries of our artists as well as coordinating travel arrangements and invoicing. In addition, you will be required to attend comedy shows, support the acts at gigs and attend industry events outside of the standard working hours.
- You should be confident in your ability to speak to a myriad of contacts and personality types, whilst maintaining good working relationships with all our artists and having a great eye for opportunities.
- The ideal candidate will have high organisational skills and an exceptional eye for detail, with a strong work ethic and desire to learn and progress their career in producing live comedy and events.
- As a Live Booker you will work with the Head of Live and the core team of Agents/Managers.
Key responsibilities
- Book shows, work in progress shows, previews, mini-tours, gigs/tours, corporate bookings.
- Liaise with promoters, venue managers, tour managers, corporations, international bookers, producers to ensure all diary entries have the correct information.
- Ensure artists have the correct and clear information about every event booked.
- Oversee bookings to an exceptional detail level and maintaining company database.
- Manage enquiries for clients in terms of fees, dates, travel, and accommodation logistics, etc.
- Log, manage, and chase invoicing for all live events.
- Research and book international travel for artists.
- Keep detailed notes for all the acts in terms of live work preferences.
- To be part of the production team for UTC LIVE events inc “The Blackout”.
- Accompany clients to gigs as requested.
Skill set
- A passion for comedy and a strong knowledge of the genre is desirable.
- Commercial awareness and ability to hit projected targets.
- Extremely strong administration skills and ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Previous diary/schedule management experience and exceptional organisation.
- Brilliant communication skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability and drive to work independently/ unsupervised.
- The willingness and availability to work long hours and attend gigs as needed.
- Experience using database systems and basic Apple software knowledge.
- Efficient in handling company processes and creating their own.
- A friendly personality and masses of initiative: proactive and forward thinking!
