Blue Pencil Agency Literary Consultants are looking for a new Part-Time Literary Consultancy Assistant.
BPA offers editorial services, competitions, and events for writers of fiction and narrative non-fiction – we’re passionate about helping budding authors to improve their craft and get their work out there.
This is a remote marketing and administration role that is perfect for anyone looking to take their first step into the publishing industry. The job involves ten hours of social media management weekly and 2-5 hours of editorial assistance, with payment of £15/hr. If you’re passionate about supporting aspiring novelists, confident producing compelling copy and visuals for social media, and love keeping things organised, this could be the role for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing BPA’s Twitter, Instagram and Facebook channels
- Producing email campaigns and newsletters
- Writing posts for the BPA blog
- Handling data and reporting analysis
- Reading entries to the BPA First Novel Award
- Attending and photographing events (near to London)
- Responding to enquiries regarding our editorial services
- Connecting writers to a suitable editor from our team and overseeing all communications
About you:
- You love books and engaging with the writing community
- You have experience with Twitter, Instagram and Facebook as well as Microsoft Word and Excel. It would be a big plus if you also have experience with Wordpress and/or Mailchimp
- You have digital marketing expertise and are able to produce bespoke visuals using Photoshop or Canva
- You possess excellent written English; you’re confident communicating over email and on the phone
- You’re organised and self-motivated
- You’re able to work flexible hours, including weekdays and weekends
