Purpose of the post
•Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.•To assist the Lighting Engineer to maintain a Street lighting Service and Highways Signs in the Arfon and Dwyfor area effectively, efficiently and economically.Responsibility for functions
•Roadworkers and electrician when required.
•Any equipment, vehicle, machinery or goods appertaining to the duties mentioned.
•Manage the sub-contractors who are used to prepare the service.
Main duties
•To assist with the managment of the Street Lighting Service and Highways Signs effectively, efficiently and economically with particular consideration to the following:
•Prepare information and minutes on time and in accordance with the Department’s systems (in accordance with the requirements of Quality Assured).
•Organise the workforce and electricians in an effective and efficient way to achieve an acceptable level of work output.
•Organise effectively and efficiently any equipment, vehicles, machinery or deliveries that is relevant to the service.
•Undertake final measurements for the works in accordance with a specific timetable.
•Participate in the Stand-by rota outside working hours.
•Other duties relevant to the post as requested by the line manager.
•Be a part of the process of monitoring performance in accordance with the requirement of the post.
•Responsibility for self-development.
•Ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules in the workplace in accordance with the responsibilities noted in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Council’s Health and Safety Policy.
•Operate within the Council’s policies in relation to equal opportunities and equality.
•Responsible for managing information in accordance with the Council’s information management guidelines. Ensure that personal information is treated in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
•Commitment to reducing the Council’s carbon emissions in accordance with the Carbon Management Plan, and to encourage others to act positively towards reducing the Council’s Carbon Footprint.
•Undertake any other reasonable duty which corresponds to the salary level and responsibility level of the job.
•Responsibility to report any concern or suspicion that a child or vulnerable adult is being abused.
Special circumstances
•Must hold a full driving licence.
•Working outside normal working hours to respond to the Service’s requirements in relation to emergency situations.
•The postholder may be called upon to work outside his/her usual area in the case of emergency or specific needs of the service.

Salary: £35,441.00-£37,261.00 per year
