Job description

  • We are seeking a new designer to join our team who is keen to work closely with their leadership team to grow a special lighting design studio offering services to clients all around the world.

Responsibilities'

To work closely with the Principal, Design Associate and Design/Project Teams to provide design & project management support on all aspects of our design projects.

This will be a very multi-functional role, in a fast paced environment which will require a self starting attitude with a variety of skills and expertise levels to be applied.

Previous experience in Hospitality and Residential lighting design is favourable.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience with the following:

1. Luminaire and lighting controls product knowledge

2. Electrical / technical knowledge including knowledge of dimming protocols DALI, DMX, 0-10v, Phase

3. Lighting Design skills including use of autoCAD, Photoshop and InDesign

4. Project Management

5. Attention to detail with documentation creation using AutoCAD.

6. Knowledge of construction practices both locally and internationally.

7. Excellent Communication skills, via email and telephone.

8. CAD & Excel proficiency.

9. A consultative based approach

10. Estimating / Quotation experience

11. Task & Time Management / prioritisation skills

12. Be able to produce lighting calculations using Dialux.

13. Applicants must be UK or EU citizens (Pre-Settled/ Settled status) or possess UK residency / Right to work already.

14. You will be results driven and a motivated individual with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.

15. Previous work experience in a lighting design consultancy / engineering practice with artificial lighting design is critical.

Qualifications

A Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field of design e.g interior design, architecture, product design.

2/3+ years of experience in a pure lighting design role.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £27,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
