About The Role
The key responsibilities include
Set up (programming) and operation of lighting systems
Set up (not creation) and operation of AV media for centrally produced show content
Ensure all shows are consistently delivered to a high standard
Liaising and working with visiting artistes and engineers
Carry out basic levels of maintenance /repairs of lighting equipment (including soldering, wiring)
Working at Height
To have a working knowledge of DMX on the set up of new show support or effects
Assist with the creative element of the performance through lighting and audio visual
To adhere to Health and Safety procedures (Stage and Backstage areas)
Basic stage craft duties
Assisting in the setting of stage scenery
Lifting and carrying equipment and sets (including the unloading and loading of vehicles)
Inspire and motivate other team members with passion, energy and commitment
Be open to learning new skills and developing your own knowledge of Butlin's
Attend all required training as set out in your rota/schedule (Training for all entertainment show, activity or workshop delivery will be provided to ensure team are competent capable and comfortable)
Communicating Effectively Externally
Following the company guidelines/best practices when liaising with visiting suppliers, acts, and guest artists
Communicating Effectively Internally
Attending and participating in all relevant internal and external meetings in connection with the responsibilities of the position
Liaising as appropriate with your line manager and stage manager
Ensure open communication with the entertainment department across the three resorts and central support team
Role model correct behaviours in line with our culture
Compliance/Legislation/Control
Adhering to all company procedures, best practices, support resort and branding guidelines
Following and enforcing all relevant legislation including health, safety, hygiene and fire
Ensuring the safety of customers and team members, especially by following all safety guidelines highlighted in rehearsal and training environments.
Ensure that all set up, delivery and set down practices are run safely and as set out in your training/rehearsal period.
Measure of Success
Guest qualitative feedback (TI)
Guest likelihood to rebook / advocate (NPS)
Product/Entertainment audits - where applicable
Individual goals will be set for measurement of success by the technical manager.
About You
The candidate would have a good understanding of electrical systems, power distribution equipment rigging and suspension, alongside experience in basic lighting maintenance (including soldering, electrical wiring), understanding of LED screen technology, video mixing and switching.
Our lighting and audio visual technicians play a critical part in the technical support team and we look for committed, flexible team players with good communication skills, a problem solving attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
