Job description
Here's a bit more detail on what we see you doing in this role:
- You’ll be responsible for the health and safety of all members and guests within our pools; enforcing pool polices and regulations
- Calmly and effectively handle any challenging situations which may arise whist on poolside
- You’ll have responsibility for maintaining and managing all pool areas, as well as daily Plantroom duties including pool tests
- Attending monthly training sessions to maintain Lifeguard Qualification
- Maintaining and replenishing all changing areas and gym facilities to the highest of standards
- Attaining a safe working knowledge of all cleaning products and machinery
- Attend monthly departmental meetings and contribute your ideas for continued improvement
- Build great working relationships with our members and guests, as well as with other departments across the estate
- Carrying out safety checks and report any maintenance required in a timely fashion
- Assisting with the running and operations of Lawn games and tennis
- The working pattern consists of a combination of shifts, weekday shifts 6.00 am - 2.30pm / 2.00pm-10.30pm weekend shifts 6.30am - 3.00pm / 2.00pm - 10.30pm
- You’ll take pride in keeping all public areas, front and back of house to the highest level of cleanliness
- Interacting with our members and guests, always warm, professional, helpful and doing everything you can to exceed their expectations; playing your part in making their visit with us 5 star in every way
The kind of person we're looking for:
- You must hold a valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
- Have a warm, approachable and trustworthy attitude, along with being helpful and self-motivated
- Confident in communicating with members and guests to ensure their experience at Wellness and Gleneagles is special
- Take pride in having excellent personal presentation, hygiene and grooming standards
- You're highly motivated and possess an immense sense of pride in your work; you're passionate about delivering the high standards for our guests in line with the Gleneagles brand
- Have a positive “can do” attitude to solving problems in a professional and courteous manner
- A strong team player with great communication skills and an enthusiastic approach; you're well organised and punctual with an eagle eye for detail
