About the Role

Dr Laliwala and partners are looking to welcome a Practice Nurse to join the team on a permanent basis.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Assess the needs of patients and deliver appropriate treatment, screening and advice
  • To manage care for individuals within specific groups
  • To identify, manage and support patients with or at risk of developing long-term conditions and implement individual treatment plans
  • Carry out preventative screening
  • Implement vaccination programmes for adults and children
  • Participate in activities relating to QOF
  • To support the Infection Prevention Control (IPC) lead and to work to the IPC Policy supporting the implementation of audits, training, support and evidence of compliance
  • Develop, review and implement nursing protocols in conjunction with others
  • To request pathology services and process pathology results as required
  • To maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with extant legislation and ensure read codes are used effectively
  • Prepare for CQC inspections
  • To support the team in dealing with clinical emergencies

About you

As a key member of our team of Doctors, Physician Associates, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physiotherapists, Social prescribers, Nurses and HCA’s you will be:

  • An NMC and RGN registered nurse, with an up to date PIN number renewed annually
  • Able to work autonomously
  • Ideally you will have experience of working in primary care and have the following clinical skills:

Wound care
ECG’s
Venepuncture
Women’s Health
Immunisations
Chronic disease management

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Good interpersonal skills, committed to supporting the team and the ability to work under pressure
  • Effective time management
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development
