Knowsley Library Service has branches in Huyton, Kirkby, Halewood, Prescot and Stockbridge Village. The service lends books and resources to customers, supports them with access to computers and information, and provides activities for young people and adults.
We seek a community-focused, motivated person, with public library experience, to be responsible for all aspects of day-to-day service delivery in Libraries, to high standards of customer care.
Duties include:
Leading, motivating and developing Branch staff
Working with specialist colleagues and partners to support delivery of the reader development, digital inclusion, learning, information, community history, children’s and promotional agendas.
As part of the Operations Team, supervising staffing levels, sickness procedures, timetables, holiday rotas and other administrative procedures.
You will have a wide knowledge of reading, and proven experience of working in and supervising staff to deliver an effective library service. This is a hands-on supervisory role overseeing Libraries across the Borough, with direct involvement in the development and delivery of community activities and groups to a wide range of service users including children and older people. You will have excellent IT and organisational skill, and experience of providing high quality customer service. A thorough understanding of the role of modern public libraries within communities is essential.
