Part Time, Fixed Term - 18 months
We're looking for a Porter to join the busiest library in the City. it's a small team but a big library, with hundreds of people visiting every day. You'll enjoy working with the public, offering a friendly welcome to all.
Duties range from portering to cleaning to maintenance to security and on your application you'll need to show that you:
- Can work unsupervised and as part of a team
- Can communicate with a wide range of people in a wide range of situations
- Will remain calm in a crisis, taking charge in an emergency
- Can provide good customer care
- Can move boxes and crates safely following manual handling guidelines
- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft
You might also have previous experience of similar work in security, portering, building maintenance and/or working with the public.
Central Library is open seven days a week so you'll be working to a shift system as below. You'll also need to have a Disclosure & Barring Service check.
