Job description
The successful candidate will be part of a small team, assisting in the day-to-day delivery of an exceptional and innovative library and knowledge service to staff, students on placement and partner organisations.
As the first point of contact for people using the library, the role requires the ability to communicate with a diverse range of users at all levels. As such, the postholder will need to demonstrate excellent customer care and a commitment to ensuring the enquirer is given the information they need or is signposted appropriately.
The postholder will be required to undertake a wide variety of administrative tasks and will need to be able to manage these effectively whilst also dealing with frequent enquiries and interruptions from library users. Part of the role is to assist and guide library users to the appropriate library services, both physical and electronic resources, and to provide inductions for staff and students.
The postholder will need to have a good understanding of Microsoft Office applications to support computer users who are not IT / digitally literate and to help them to access e-learning modules In addition, the postholder will build up a knowledge and understanding of a wide range of specialist online resources and databases in order to give effective support to users.
The postholder will be responsible for supporting the Trusts wellbeing agenda through organising and delivering a range of activities and displays.
