Project Archivist – Salary ranges from £29,000 - £31,000 (pro rata)
Location – Norwich with ability to work on-site most days
Contract – 8 months
Aviva are looking for a Project Archivist to join the business in a fixed term position - we are looking for an enthusiastic individual to appraise and catalogue a recent transfer of legacy records.
The project is initially for 8 months, with the possibility of extension, and it is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a discrete piece of work with tangible impact. There is also the potential to work with the Group Archive on other activities.
This position would suit a new professional, ideally with a year or more experience in a relevant role. Support will be given to candidates working towards Registered status.
This is a very physically demanding role, so you must be able to lift heavy boxes when required.
A bit about the job:
- Manage transfer of material from onsite storage
- Make appraisal decisions in conjunction with Aviva’s archivists
- List and arrange records for long-term preservation
Skills & Experience required:
- A qualification in archives and records management, or equivalent (those working towards qualification will be considered)
- Experience of working with paper-based collections
- Cataloguing experience and knowledge of cataloguing systems
- An interest in business archives
- Ideally, a year or more of professional experience

- Salary ranges from £29,000 - £31,000 (PRO RATA) (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
