Job description
This role is open to Leeds Beckett University Students and recent graduates
If you’re naturally helpful and passionate about supporting a wide range of people, Library Services is now recruiting a Library Assistant. Offering plenty of flexibility, this is a role that fits around your course, hobby or life and we welcome applications from diverse backgrounds.
This role requires you to work 6 hours on a Saturday (11.00-17.00) plus an additional 14 hours in the afternoons on Tuesday-Friday. One day a week till 7pm may be required.
In this rewarding role, you’ll play a big part in helping active minds to gain their degree while being physically active yourself for part of your time. You’ll serve on our busy reception and welcome desk, assisting students, staff and visitors to enter the Library and answering their questions about library basics whilst giving them a positive first impression of the Library. Shelving books, emptying book bins and checking returns will also form part of this vital role. That means we’re looking for a Library Assistant with a real eye for detail, who can lift and carry books, push trolleys, and quickly arrange books into alphabetical and numerical order.
You will be based mainly at our Headingley Campus Library and you may also need to work at City Campus depending on the needs of the service.
