About This Position

Bury College is welcoming applications for a Qualified Librarian to join our Learning Resources department on a Full time - Permanent basis!

Joining us as a professional and experienced librarian, you would expect to contribute to the organisation and management of the library services, including but not limiting to the following

  • Financial planning and management of the library budgets, the Library Development Plan and Line Management of the LRC staff.
  • Providing a first class information and resource service that focusses on; teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Working closely with wider college teams to ensure that all resources have direct relevance to curriculum to enhance learners’ study programmes.
  • Promoting an inclusive environment supporting a diverse student community.

Experience required

  • With previous experience of working with library management systems, you will have either a graduate or post graduate library qualification and have a working knowledge of the Dewey Decimal Classification system.
  • Good communication and customer services skills are essential as is an ability to maintain an appropriate learning environment in the LRC for all students while promoting diversity and inclusivity.
  • Previous experience of working in an educational setting and of supervising staff would be highly advantageous.

This opportunity is based on 37 working hours per week.
