All About the Role
Based at our AH Allen Steel Services site in Brackmills, Northampton, the purpose of this role is to carry out driving & related duties involved with the carriage of goods within a defined geographical area, ensuing full compliance to all Health and Safety procedures. This role is Monday to Friday 6.30 am – 3.00pm Monday to Friday plus overtime when required
Specific tasks could include:
- To oversee the safe unloading of vehicles at customer premises.
- Ensuring Proofs of Delivery are signed & returned without delay.
- To check the load security & weight distribution according to latest safe working practices at the beginning and end of each shift.
- To ensure that the delivery vehicles are always maintained to Company standards in terms of reporting of any defects to the vehicle.
- Ensures vehicles are in safe condition, with daily checks correctly completed before use, & are operated in a safe manner.
- Manual Handling & Loading.
- Supporting the warehouse staff as and when necessary.
- Adherence to all Health & Safety standards and legislation.

All About You
Essential Skills for the role:
- To hold a valid HGV Class 2 Licence (with no more than 6 points).
- Own a Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph card.
- Knowledge of working time directive.
- Previous experience in a warehousing or distribution business.
- Understanding and experience of EHS requirements.
- Multi-Drop experience
- Ability to carry our manual handling and loading
