Serial Affinity Ltd is looking to appoint a junior Agile Business Analyst on a Full-Time basis at their Tech HQ in Finnieston, Glasgow.
Applicants must be enthusiastic and have an awareness of the agile software development process. Ideally you will be able to demonstrate problem solving and analytical abilities including evaluating information elicited from multiple sources, reconciling conflicts, decomposition of high-level information and application of business and technical domain knowledge to produce requirements backlogs.
Writing and owning detailed user stories.
Working closely with development teams to enable delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Typical projects include: Product Improvement initiatives, new Product Development, Software and Mobile WebApp Modernisation and Infrastructure (Cloud/On Premise Hybrid) projects.
As a Junior Agile Business Analyst in Serial Affinity as part of one of our scrum teams you will be working closely with a senior analyst and scrum master where you will assist with managing the product backlog, ensuring that it is properly prioritized, groomed, and refined.
Collaborating with the development team and the product owner to provide clarifications, answer questions, and resolve any issues that arise during the sprint. You may be asked to facilitate agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-up meetings, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
You will also be working with the product owner and development team to learn how to determine the scope of each sprint and define the user stories that will be developed. In addition to working with stakeholders to understand their business needs and translate them into user stories and requirements.
Within our delivery team our training program will see you constantly learning and keeping up with industry best practices and new developments in agile methodologies, gaining certifications and developing your interpersonal, problem solving and time management skills.
Essential Skills, Competencies, Experience and Relevant Qualifications:
There is a requirement for the successful applicant to have either a formal IT qualification and / or 1 – 2 years’ experience in any of the following:
- Experience as a Business Analyst, working on bespoke application or packaged software, ideally experience working in an Agile team to agree and develop system/product designs based on user requirements and specifying these as user stories
- Experience of agile development methodologies eg, SCRUM preferred.
- Experience in facilitating workshops.
- Experience of process flow analysis, requirements definition, data models, functional design.
A working knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps would also be advantageous as would familiarity of tools such as JIRA, Teams and Slack.
- Strong verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills.
- BCS Profession Certificate in Agile Business Analysis, Certified Product Owners or other agile business analysis certifications are beneficial but not essential training will be provided for the appropriate candidates.
- Previous experience of working with any SQL databases and database querying languages and / or programming skills such as Python are highly desirable, but not essential.
Days & Hours to be worked:
Mon – Friday
37.5 Hrs Flexible working
Required core hours:
10am – 12 noon
2pm – 4pm
Salary:
25k-30k per annum dependent on experience.
