Our Project Management apprenticeships offer you the opportunity to gain practical knowledge into a Project Managers responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of projects.
The apprenticeship is designed to develop your understanding on delivering projects in line with defined objectives and taking decisions to manage stakeholder expectations by leading a multi-skilled, cross-disciplinary team to deliver the project to time, cost and quality requirements.
This apprenticeship is designed to offer generous study support and opportunity to complete your qualification along with plenty of chances to apply your learning in the workplace. Overview

The scheme will last for four years, each year with its own milestones and targets which you will set out to achieve and take the next step towards becoming a qualified Project Management Professional.
You will be based in , York , Derby , London , Manchester
College is a mixture of online and classroom-based study for the duration of the scheme (one day a week on average).

What you’ll be doing
The Project Management apprenticeship enables you to rotate across various functions, working on a multitude of projects. You will be involved in all aspects of the Project Management process, applying appropriate governance and project management methods and techniques to initiate and execute projects to meet strategic objectives. You will gain an appreciation of programme management techniques and an understanding of how projects are managed within a larger programme.
Using your knowledge, skills and leadership behaviours you will manage the social, legal and environmental implications of a project. In addition, you will manage a variety of interfaces with the organisational entities involved projects, reporting to the project sponsor and working within the requirements of the programme and portfolio as appropriate.
You will also develop the competencies to contribute to benefits management and realisation, consolidating appropriate metrics to report thus ensuring that identified business benefits are achieved.
You will learn how to create an environment for an inclusive and diverse organisational culture. Working collaboratively to build rapport and trust, you will develop networks and maintain relationships using your effective communication skills to build and inspire teams to improve performance and achieve outcomes. You will assist in delegating tasks, setting goals and accountabilities, providing clear guidance and monitoring progress.
What you’ll get out of it
Apprentices will achieve either a BA or BSc Honours degree in Project Management.
Apprentices are required to achieve an International Project Management
Association (IPMA) Level D qualification or equivalent, prior to taking the end point assessment.
Apprentices without level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment.
On successful completion, apprentices are eligible to become full members of Association for Project Management (APM), the Chartered Body for the Project Profession.
The opportunities it leads to
Completion of the Project Management apprenticeship can lead to career development within the organisation in roles such as Project Management Assistant or Portfolio Manager. Or you may choose to progress within roles outside of the Project Management function within a commercial or programme controls role.
Entry Requirements
An apprentice might be expected to have achieved appropriate level 3 qualifications on entry (e.g. three A levels grade A-C or a vocational equivalent).
Apprentices are also expected to have typically achieved Maths and English at Level 2 prior to starting the apprenticeship (assessment of Maths and English functional skills and additional training to achieve these will be provided where required).
