Job description
2 x Level 3 Qualified Early Years Practitioner to work 3-5 days per week in our 6 months- 2 years room- 8 hour shifts.
Little Darwins Nursery is set in the small village of Rettendon in close proximity to South Woodhams Ferrers, Wickford and Chelmsford. The nursery is a purpose-built setting which has large rooms, extensive gardens and access the large field of Rettendon Primary school. We are lucky to be set in a beautiful location with access to nature and the outdoors all year round. This entails lots of puddle splashing, bird watching, cloud gazing and nature walks. Our focus is quality teaching and care for children in the local community, supporting exploration, experiences of awe and wonder and allowing children to be innovators in their own play. We are looking for Level 3 Qualified nursery practitioners to join our Outstanding team who are passionate to play with, teach and care for children between the ages of 6 month and 2 years. You need to have a deep understanding of the EYFS and child development, observe, assess and plan for children’s interests, development and characteristics of effective learning. Be a key person to a group of children, building strong connections and relationships with them and their families, getting to know them and understanding their needs. Most importantly enjoys having fun, has a kind and caring smile, enjoys dancing and singing and loves to play.
Other skills you will need:
· Sing in your own unique voice to every nursery rhyme, made up song and even when calling the register.
· Have a smile which is used all day every day which will brighten each child’s day.
· Experienced in going on a bear hunt, swishing through the grass, squelching in the mud and slashing through the river.
· To have many animated voices and face expressions to read every story.
· An expert in warm and heartfelt cuddles.
· Quirky dance moves which are used for a range of music genres.
· The ability to get messy, using tools and body parts to explore.
· Enjoys the sun, the rain, the wind and the snow.
· Finally, can tune in to your inner child, being able to see the wonder in the world.
