Your duties will include
- 2D & 3D CAD drafting (using Vectorworks)
- 3D CAD modelling (using Sketchup & Vectorworks)
- 3D CGI’s / visualisations (using rendering software & Photoshop)
- Assisting with preparing documents (using word)
- Assisting with preparing reports, (using InDesign)
- Assisting more senior staff with measured surveys
- Accompanying senior staff on site visits & meetings
- Taking notes at meetings then writing up for distribution
- Copying & scanning documents
- Assisting with making 3D card models Some hand sketching
Hours: 37.00 per week
About the employer:
We are an established award winning firm of Chartered Architect’s. We provide full architectural, planning, building design and project management services for a wide range of building projects. These include housing schemes, hotels and leisure buildings, barn conversions, commercial and community buildings, schools and colleges, historic buildings and one-off houses.
Requirements and Prospects:

After 2 years, the candidate will be a mid-level apprentice. After a further 2 years, they will have completed their apprenticeship and will be an intermediate Architectural Technician. Following an optional 2 further years of work and the completion of a log book and interview, they will be able to apply for membership of CIAT and qualify as an Architectural Technologist. There is also the prospect of going on to become an RIBA Chartered Architect, which is the highest level of qualification in the construction industry worldwide. Both of these options require further study, but this can be undertaken whilst working in practice thus avoiding the high levels of student debt associated with university education.

Additional Information:
You will attend Exeter College 1 day per week at the Future Skills Centre, near Exeter Airport
GCSE grades 4/C or above in Maths and English or equivalent
