The role

We are actively seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our technical team in the Biomedical Sciences Building as a Level 1 Research Technician.

This is an open-ended contract, working full time 35hrs / week, Monday – Friday.

Working as part of a wider technical support team, the role holder will provide essential support for a designated suite of research laboratories occupied by the three schools within the Biomedical Sciences Building (Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Medicine, and Physiology, Pharmacology and Neuroscience).

What will you be doing?

The post-holder will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of day-to-day duties with the utmost efficiency.

This position includes providing exceptional support to the research groups by performing various tasks such as preparation of sterile materials, scientific glass washing, equipment maintenance and cleaning, maintaining laboratory stocks and ordering of consumables, manual handling of gas cylinders, liquid nitrogen filling and other crucial activities.

Additionally, the role requires the willingness to assist senior technician colleagues with any further support they may require.

The individual in this position should also foster a culture of safety and adhere to all relevant laboratory guidelines and regulations.
