This is a great and exciting time to join Test Valley’s forward thinking and proactive housing team.
We have a number of vacancies available and we are looking for people to join our busy housing service, which focuses on preventing homelessness across the borough, working with customers in both Andover and Romsey.
We are looking for people who are dynamic, customer focused and thrive in a busy challenging front line environment. You will have a desire to help support people who are at risk of experiencing homelessness, using a strengths based approach.
Even if you don’t tick all the boxes, or have no previous experience, we want to hear from you. Your attitude and approach to customers will be the most important factor in securing one of these opportunities. Training for all of these roles will be provided.
1 x Lettings Assistant
31 hours per week, permanent role
Covers Andover and Romsey
Grade 5 - Salary bracket £24,912.24 - £27,122.88 pro rota
Our Lettings Assistant is crucial role to the running of the Council’s housing register. You will assess and process new applications to join the housing register and updates to existing applications. You will provide telephone support to those customers who need our assistance and supporting the letting officers with adverts and nominations.

You will have the opportunity to meet Senior Officers and existing post holders who can discuss the roles with you in more detail and talk you through our application process.

You do not have to book a TEAMS session or attend the drop-in session, however we have found that candidates who speak to us before completing the online application form are more likely to be shortlisted for an interview.

In your supporting statement we expect you to demonstrate how you do, or could meet the criteria set out in the person specification. We encourage you to write a couple of sentences against each of the criteria listed, detailing how you can meet this criteria. If you do have previous, experience or transferable skills please include examples of these in your statement.
