Job description
Applying your education, practice experience and business knowledge, you will support the delivery of high quality legal services, manage your own caseload, and handle independent tasks when clients’ needs may be met by a member of the legal staff team.
You will provide efficient, timely and organized service, build strong working relationships, and help drive innovation through continuous process improvement
- Post-secondary diploma in a recognized Legal Assistant program, or combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a legal support role
- Ability to independently manage own workload with well-developed organizational and time management skills and handle changing and competing priorities
- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal with keen attention to detail and the ability to draft clear and concise written communications
- Strong technical skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Pro, matter management and document management software)
- Knowledge of bankruptcies, garnishments and/or other miscellaneous types of legal requests (ie. Powers of Attorney, Wills and Estates, Court Orders, litigation pleadings) would be considered an asset
- Experience working with highly sensitive and confidential information as part of daily duties
