Job description
We are looking for a talented Legal Secretary to join our Private Client team based in our Bath office. Your responsibility will be to support fee earners at all levels of the Succession & Tax team from Paralegal to Partner. Their work is non-contentious including; tax and succession planning, probate and estate administration, trust administration, drafting and executing wills and powers of attorney.
You will be supporting our fee earners in all secretarial matters to ensure they can progress the needs of the client in a timely and effective way. You’ll need to demonstrate that you are organised, can work well under pressure, communicate effectively both on the phone and via email, and above all be a team player who can contribute to the successes of the team. Your support to the team will include the following areas:
· Answering email and telephone queries, redirecting as appropriate to the necessary Fee Earner for review
· Producing letters, emails and documents, more often than not from dictation
· Diary management, ensuring appointments are accurately scheduled and catered for, this could include setting up telephone conferences or ensuring meeting rooms are booked for client visits
· Ensuring electronic and/or paper files are updated to maintain an accurate and accessible document
· Assisting with Trust administration
At Thrings we’re extremely proud of the relationships we have built with our clients; being seen as their trusted legal partner so it’s important that we match that internally with the people we recruit. This is why we see being able to build rapport, relationships and being a team player as important qualities for the person coming in to do this role. Ideally you will have experience of working in a law firm or a professional services environment, even better from a Private Client background, but we recognise that there are lots of highly organised, driven individuals who are keen to learn new skills in a new role. If you like a challenge, are used to working under pressure and would like to work with a dynamic team that deals with interesting and varied work for a wide range of clients this could be the role for you.
We’re working in a hybrid way and envisage that will continue; ideally you will be based in Bath office (working from home one to two days a week if requested) and will, from time-to-time, need to travel to other offices. We’d like someone who is able to work full time hours due to the nature of this role but there is a degree of flexibility on this. In return, you can expect a variety of benefits that can be tailored to you and your personal circumstances; these include Private Medical cover, Health checks, Dental Insurance, Travel Insurance and much more.
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age. If you require any reasonable adjustments as part of the recruitment process or when employed, then do let us know.
