The Legal Services Office provides legal and trade mark services to the University Administration; to the Proctors’ Office; to departments and faculties; to the Bodleian and the Ashmolean; to colleges that do not have separate corporate identity and to the University’s subsidiary companies. The department comprises of 23 members of staff, including 5 administrative team members, who are based in 2 separate locations. The work is busy, varied and interesting and offers the successful candidate the opportunity to become a key person within a friendly and highly motivated team.
You will provide support to the Legal Services team as a whole, will work closely with the small administrative team and will be the first point of contact for a variety of legal queries. The post involves direct interaction with a wide range of people across the University, at all levels of seniority, and therefore requires an individual with confident and professional communication skills.
You will be involved in a number of administrative activities, including supporting the solicitors with their administrative tasks, providing advice on administrative processes, maintaining filing systems and invoice processing. You should have strong administrative experience, excellent IT and numerical skills, and possess a calm, approachable and methodical manner.
