Location: The Council House
We are looking for a highly motivated and suitably experienced Legal Officer for this important post. As a member of our busy legal team, your main area of work will be to assist the team in advising and representing the Adult and Health Department in all aspects of community care and mental health law including Court of Protection proceedings. You will also be required to assist the Education Lawyer. You will be expected to hold your own caseload as well as assisting the lawyers with theirs and demonstrate a good technical knowledge of adult social care law. We offer flexible working and the opportunity to carry a varied and stimulating caseload.
You will need to be:
- able to demonstrate experience of working in a legal office
- able to demonstrate a good knowledge of adult social care law
- able to demonstrate experience of working in a local government environment
- enthusiastic as well as being a good communicator
- able to work under pressure and on your own initiative
- be able to give clear pragmatic advice
