Reqiva are partnered with a major player within the Motion Capture space. They are seeking a talented and experienced UX Researcher to join our dynamic design team on a predominantly remote basis.
The team engages in a diverse range of technical projects, focusing on the development of intuitive, high-quality, and robust applications.
The key responsibilities will involve planning, conducting, and analysing research to gather insights about users, ultimately informing the design process.
Responsibilities to include
- Define research objectives and utilize appropriate research methodologies tailored to project requirements at various stages of the design cycle.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in Product Management, Development, and Design to align research efforts with the overall project plan.
- Identify, screen, and recruit participants for research studies.
- Develop comprehensive research plans, including travel logistics, within project timelines and budgetary constraints.
- Execute research using a range of methods such as contextual inquiry, diary studies, field studies, surveys, and usability tests while ensuring adherence to research protocols and ethical guidelines.
- Observe and document user behaviour through detailed note-taking, audio/video recording (when appropriate and agreed upon with participants).
- Analyse research data to gain insights into the needs, goals, and behaviours of target users.
- Present key research findings and insights, sharing user stories and pain points to foster a deep understanding of the user perspective.
- Create user personas representing various archetypes and develop journey maps that highlight user experiences across different touchpoints, emphasizing pain points and user emotions.
- Document research findings, methodologies, participant profiles, and notable insights, ensuring the secure organization and storage of research data for future reference.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive Science, Anthropology, or a related field.
- 4-10 years of experience in UX research, working on complex and diverse research projects.
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including conducting interviews, surveys, usability testing, card sorting, ethnographic research, and data analysis.
- Strong portfolio showcasing research projects, methodologies, and the impact of your work.
- Sound understanding of user-centered design principles and practices.
- Deep empathy for users and a strong commitment to advocating for their needs and perspectives.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
