Job description

We are a busy legal team serving the GP Bullhound business across the UK, EU and US, and we are looking for an inquisitive, hard-working and commercially minded individual with experience working in an office environment in a fast-paced role.

You must be enthusiastic about technology and be able to demonstrate your ability to use your initiative at work whilst project managing various workstreams at the same time, prioritizing effectively between them. The legal team consists of the Chief Legal Officer and two Group Legal Counsels. You would work closely with each of them, and they would train you in areas of corporate, commercial and employment law as such topics arise in the day-to-day role advising the business. This role would suit a current SQE candidate or someone who has completed their LPC, as well as a trainee or newly qualified solicitor.

About this Role


This role is a 6 -12 month internship (based on business need) based in our Manchester office, and we would ideally prefer the successful candidate to work from the office at least 3 days a week, with more time in the office at the commencement of the role whilst they are learning about the firm, the culture and getting to know our people. The role is a full-time role, 5 days per week.


We are looking for someone hard working, dedicated, with precise attention to detail and who is able to project manage a busy workload. They must be confident and professional in written and spoken English.

The role will involve assisting the legal team in responding to and advising the firm on legal and strategic issues as they arise, as well as pro-actively educating the business on legal and risk, using software and technology to increase the efficiency of the legal team and the business. A typical range of tasks that you could expect to work on would include:


  • Drafting and negotiating legal documents, including confidentiality agreements, commercial contracts and client agreements. We would train you in this.
  • Legal research into relevant topics and preparation of advice notes, condensing the information to digestible summaries and presenting them using MS powerpoint;
  • Communicating with prospective clients at the outset of our relationship to obtain required KYC documentation from them, and managing the process of verifying their information using third party KYC software;
  • Analysing received client information and classifying it based on findings, escalating when appropriate;
  • Liaising with external lawyers on matters where they have been instructed, communicating the needs of the firm to them and project managing the delivery of their work back to the firm, ensuring it is in the right format and that it has addressed the areas of concern.

A confident use of Microsoft software (including excel, word, powerpoint and outlook) is required. Specialist skills in this software is not required.
