Job description
The opportunity is to join the Legal Entity Control (LEC) team based in London as part of Global Finance and Business Management. The LEC team are based in London, Mumbai and Warsaw and are primarily responsible for the oversight of legal entities in the UK and ensuring that a strong control environment exists as it relates to all businesses, products and operational areas that impact the UK financial statements. They are responsible for standalone US Regulatory Reporting, internal management reporting as well as preparation of audited financial statements.
As a Legal Entity Control Analyst, you will be aligned to a specific legal entity and will also be involved in centralised projects to support the wider team. You will have the opportunity to develop a broad understanding on the following:
- The legal entity's principal activities, businesses within entity and related products.
- An overview of the month end close procedures including validation of monthly financial results and reporting to management.
- An overview of quarterly regulatory returns and various management reports including monthly MIS reporting, Board reports, Management Committee reports, internal LEC analysis, and US regulatory reporting.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with LEC team members to manage the month end close P&L procedures for a UK legal entity
- Analytical review of the legal entity financial results, coordination with stakeholders to understand key drivers and preparation of legal entity commentary
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports and presentation to senior management
- Develop and foster good working relationships with other departments in the bank including Product Control, Financial Control, Corporate Financial Reporting, Tax and UK Regulatory Reporting
- Support cross entity projects for the wider LEC team where required
Required qualifications, Capabilities and skills
- Strong analytical ability, being able to discuss legal entity and business results and issues with various stakeholders across the Firm.
- A desire to learn and develop an understanding of accounting concepts and financial services products.
- Attention to detail and a control focused mind-set at all times.
- Excellent communication and presentational skills and a track record in developing good working relationships.
- Ability to work under time pressure, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
