Job description
This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to support the AHP Senior Clinical Educator with the implementation of the CHFT AHP Preceptorship program, and the training and development of the AHP workforce.
The post holder will be a proactive role model who will work to support the provision of clinical education and assessment of competence within the inpatient therapy teams. The post has been created initially to support the new Occupational Therapy graduates and the new international recruitment initiative and implementation of this.
They will work to provide education, supervision and support in practice.
They will work closely with the AHP Workforce Team to facilitate training and education requirements for the staff working within inpatient therapies. This will include specific training aligned to the Trust Quality Priorities whilst ensuring that mandatory training requirements are up to date.
The post holder will have a particular focus on supporting members of the Inpatient Therapies Team receive the appropriate training and supervision specific to their specialty role and ensure that all competency and assessments are up to date.
The post holder will assist with the planning and monitoring of development needs for staff within the Preceptorship/Appraisal framework and support the AHP Senior Clinical Educator in ensuring that all new staff receive an appropriate induction upon commencement of employment and monitor and supervise their progress.
The post holder will work within the therapy team as part of the clinical team focusing on supervision and support in practice for at least 50% of the time. This will initially be mainly focused on supporting the Occupational Therapy teams across the division.
