Job description
This role involves a range of work, including supplier, customer and brand contracts, licensing of intellectual property, software agreements, data processing agreements, management of the global trademark portfolio, conducting freedom to operate searches and general assistance on day to day legal, and company secretarial matters.
Working in a small team of experienced lawyers, there is plenty of opportunity to develop professional and personal skills and work alongside senior management as a trusted business advisor.
Daily responsibilities will be managing the core activities of the role, although there will be changes in the emphasis of duties as required from time to time.
Main responsibilities include the following:
- Drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts, including License Agreements, Brand Agreements, Supply Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, Manufacturing Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Client Contracts, Software Development Agreements, SAAS Agreements and Data Protection Agreements.
- Conducting freedom to operate searches and assisting with management of Company’s global trademark portfolio.
- Providing guidance to different business functions on data protection compliance.
- Providing legal guidance and negotiation support for the development and deployment of new technology for the benefit of tcc and its clients.
- Assisting in the delivery of the tcc strategy alongside our function and brand partners.
- Providing support on ad hoc tasks / projects, including company secretarial matters.
- Developing and delivering training.

- Minimum 3 years PQE qualification.
- Ideally, trained in a top international firm with some in-house experience.
- Experience in drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts across various jurisdictions, particularly software agreements and licences. The successful candidate must be proficient in drafting commercial terms into legal documents, where template wording is not always available.
- Good knowledge and practical application of intellectual property law.
- Data and tech literate.
- Technically up to date.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills.
- Language capability in another European language (other than English) or Mandarin preferable, but not essential.
- Ability to adapt and work in an ever-changing environment.
- Driven, team player, enthusiastic and passionate with a can-do attitude, whilst being down to earth and considerate.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work from home (role fully home based until office reopens).
- Robust and efficient, with the ability to multi-task and work on several matters simultaneously.
