We are looking for someone to join our dynamic and diverse team to provide high class legal services on non-contentious construction and commercial matters. You will be working with our business to help deliver its strategic objectives and the vision of the General Counsel team, and as you are working in a dedicated team, you will benefit from the support of colleagues throughout so that we are able to drive and ensure we create an awesome place to work. This is an opportunity which doesn’t come up often for you, you will lead on several different pieces of work which will both test and reward you in terms of what you’re advising on and the best courses of action.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
You will be Legal Counsel within the Severn Trent group legal team and you will work on strategic water resources projects, and provide the business commercial & construction partnering support to a number of different teams within our water and waste water businesses. You will also be a key partner to our competitive waste water undertaker, Severn Trent Connect. You will a key figure for our senior stakeholders to discuss legal matters with and have the opportunity to get involved with detailed project and infrastructure work which is unique to the water industry, which will utilise all of your training and experience.
You will be constantly reviewing and considering any forthcoming changes in legal or regulatory requirements which could impact on us as a business, and you will proactively consider strategic and policy objectives of the company with a view to influencing key internal and external stakeholders.
What is equally important for you and us as a business is ensuring customers’ needs are at the heart of all advice and decisions which we make. This is a business leader role with regular reporting into senior stakeholders in our businesses, so we will look for you to be happy to engage positively with the leaders of our business.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

If you have solid experience within construction or commercial law and gained this either from a law firm or in house PQE and have the ability to lean on your learnt experience of construction/commercial contracts, we’d love to hear from you.
