Main Responsibilities
- Legal Counsel for CMA CGM UK
- Assisting with corporate housekeeping of UK subsidiaries, ensure the reliability of the Group’s corporate database Governance
- Assisting with review of contracts subject to English law
- Advising on general legal matters under English law
- Identify, analyse and assess (contractual and other) Legal and Compliance risks
- Respond to ad hoc requests by proposing appropriate solutions
- Protecting the Group and the Agency’s interests
- Supporting the Group in disputes with UK entities
- Contribute to the selection and choice of external lawyers, follow disputes/ litigation and coordination with ERO and/ or Head Office
- Ensure the proper implementation of the Group's ethics and compliance rules and the compliance of the company's operations with the Code of Ethics and Group procedures such as gifts and hospitality, conflicts of interest, professional alerts, labor law. competition and agreements, protection of personal data, confidentiality.
- GDPR Officer for UK
Skills & Experience:
- Master’s in business law/Commercial Law
- Previous experience with corporate legal matters or contracts
- Previous experience in shipping and/or intermodal transport industries
- Previous experience in GDPR
- Able to take a co-operative but legal approach and provide a high level of customer service
- Pro-active, confident making decisions and working tactically
- Excellent communication skills demonstrating clarity of reasoning and appropriate style
- Excellent organisation & prioritization skills and good attention to detail
- Determined, persistent and persuasive
- Able to self-manage workload and performance
- Able to collate and analyse information
- Able to draw conclusions as to facts and liabilities
- Able to keep detailed and well-ordered records
- Competent IT user capable of working across multiple IT systems (Office + In house systems)
- Fluent in English, French would be advantageous
