Location: We have hybrid working in place, with 1-2 days per week, in our office in Canary Wharf.

What exactly will you be doing
?


As a Legal Counsel, you will oversee all legal matters across the organisation and deliver an effective legal service in all core business activity.


Major objectives


The key objectives are:

  • Design a new in-house legal function and provide legal oversight and effective support to all partnership and intellectual property arrangements.
  • Collate and assess AAT’s varied legal requirements and create an optimal service structure, considering both internal and external requirements.
  • Liaise with external lawyers to provide effective and cost-efficient legal advice to the organisation.
  • Manage and deliver a first-class in-house legal function that delivers a demanding and varied workload of legal considerations, ranging from commercial, to supplier and including employment matters.




What are we looking for?


  • Proven experience as a Legal Counsel in business environment.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate and commercial law and procedures.
  • Full comprehension of the influences of external environment in a corporate scenario.
  • Demonstrated ability to create legal advice across business activity.
  • Knowledge and understanding of charity/membership body and its functions.
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
  • Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information.
