Role: Legal Contracts Adviser (Paralegal/NQ)

Role Purpose
As a Legal Contracts Adviser, your role will be to provide legal advice and draft, review and negotiate contracts for the UK business. The role will join our legal team based at Fort Dunlop Birmingham, working 2 days a week from the office. In addition, you will:
- Be accountable and responsible for the day-to-day contract management database.
- Provide bid support to the business development team.
- Support and assist the Contracts and Litigation Manager and General Counsel UK as and when required.
The role will include other in-house tasks including but not limited to compliance, data protection and project work relating to legal.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contract review and negotiation of terms of business with clients and internal business
- Review and negotiation of NDAs
- Bid support with tenders, procurement procedure & process
- Drafting legal documents e.g. contracts for the provision of services, sub-contracts, SLAs, consultancy agreement, confidentiality agreements
- Maintain proactive support and guidance to all business units, providing contract reviews in a timely manner
- Embedding compliance culture by promoting Code of Ethics and good customer care.
- Potentially assist with the management of litigation caseload and provide co-ordination support.
- Grow and develop skills and knowledge with the support of members of the legal team and any internal or external training agreed.
- Provide support and assistance in projects work relating to legal.
Qualifications Required:
- Paralegal or Newly qualified level with experience of commercial work/contracts
- ILEX, law degree, post graduate diploma in law or similar.
Skills required
- Experience in-house is an advantage
Experience & Skills Required:
- Diligent, detailed focused approach required.
- Ability to draft review and negotiate commercial contracts
- Knowledge in data protection law is desirable
- Good communication and negotiating skills
- Good stakeholder management skills
- Good time management skills
- Negotiable basic salary
