Job description
Are you a corporate immigration specialist with at least 2 to 3 years of experience dealing with Business / Family immigration matters? Are you also looking to expand your knowledge and join a busy law firm with wide range of immigration matters?
About the role:
The Immigration Paralegal will assist in the day-to-day functions of the Immigration team including all aspects of casework and assisting in the preparation of applications. They will benefit from direct supervision and assist in the preparation for and attendance of external meetings, marketing events and project work. The role involves assisting solicitors on business immigration matters, which include Employer sponsor Licence application, Skilled Worker LTR/Entry clearance applications, sponsor duties & compliance audits, all other PBS matters, Family Visas, Visitor Visas, Business Visitors Visas, Indefinite Leave to Remain, British nationality matters, Immigration Appeal, Administrative Review, Judicial Review claims, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court cases.
Typical duties include, but are not limited to: -
· Under direct supervision, acting as a caseworker on Immigration matters
· Drafting business immigration application forms
· Liaising with high net worth clients, attending meetings to take instructions and minutes
· Organising and paginating of legal documents and other correspondences.
· Assist in preparing Witness statements and bundles to court.
· Attending Court or the Home office as and when required
· Undertake all administrative roles including photocopying, scanning, and archiving files.
· Coordinate diaries and organise calendars for clients’ appointments & firm events.
· Maintain the firm’s client related documents to ensure they are organised and up to date.
· Deal with correspondences from Home Office, High Court, Immigration Tribunals. Prepare administrative review bundles and appeals against Home Office refusals
· Assisting with precedents, research, keep up to date with changes and developments in the laws and relevant policies
· Assisting with Business Development activities
· General client care, administration, and ad-hoc tasks
Requirements
§ Applicants with atleast bachelor degree in Law with LPC are essential
§ experienced in dealing with complex cases including discretionary leave applications
§ Ideally you will have at least 2 to 3 years of previous experience dealing with Business immigration matters with a client-facing professional role. Mainly, employer sponsor licence applications covering skilled worker and intra company visas.
§ Thorough knowledge of all business immigration applications and individual/family based applications.
§ Possess extensive experience in dealing with new sponsor licence clients as well as advising on sponsor duties ensuring compliance in line with the sponsor guidance
§ Can learn procedural and processing requirements for various visa types
§ Builds knowledge of Firm and client processes
§ Demonstrates attention to detail and achieves high level of productivity
§ Multitasks in a fast-paced environment with competing demands
§ Meets assigned deadlines and communicates case progress/status/issues to supervisors
§ Demonstrates flexibility and initiative regarding assignments for self and team
§ Contributes to positive work environment
