Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced full-time Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our In-House Legal Counsel and Labour Relations units. This position will appeal to candidates who enjoy working in a fun, challenging position with a wide range of duties ranging from administrative support to paralegal services.

What is the Role

The Legal Assistant/Paralegal works in a collaborative team environment and is responsible for the confidential legal support for a broad range of labour relations cases and legal matters associated with the work of boards of reference; the Educational Relations Board; the Saskatchewan Professional Teachers Regulatory Board; and professional ethics, competency and collective interest committees. In addition to providing administrative support to our Legal Counsel, this position will also work as part of a team of Executive Assistants, to provide support, when appropriate, in the areas of labour relations, educational relations, and governance.

What You Will Bring

The successful candidate will have completed a legal assistant or paralegal program, combined with 3-4 years of related experience. Knowledge of legal procedures and protocols and the principles, concepts and methods of legal research and analysis are required. Paralegal experience working with in-house counsel would be considered an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
