Job Title: Legal Administrator
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm
Responsible to: Head of Department
Role: To provide administrative legal support and assistance to a team of residential conveyancers and their conveyancing files.
Tasks:
- Dealing with a large volume of incoming and outgoing calls in order to update parties/progress cases
- Opening conveyancing files
- Daily liaison with clients, third parties and other firms of solicitors, taking accurate messages and chasing documentation
- Proofreading documents, checking for administrative and typographical errors
- Understanding the current legal requirements for the registration of properties for which training will be given
- Dealing with file closing on case management system and accounts system
- Assisting with the preparation of post-completion matters where necessary such as SDLT submissions and Land Registry registrations for which training will be provided
- Ensuring all internal methods, systems, policies and procedures are adhered to
- Completing all tasks in compliance with Quality Assurance standards
Required:
- You must have completed A Level studies and be able to evidence a good standard of written and spoken English and be reasonably numerate
- You must have strong communication skills and be very confident on the telephone
- You must be able to build good working relationships at all levels, through all mediums
- You must have a professional attitude and excellent client facing skills
- You must have a keen eye for detail and be organised
- You must have excellent general administrative skills and be accurate
- You must work in an efficient, timely manner and manage workloads to achieve targets
- You must be self-motivated, proactive and a friendly team member
- You must be able to work within a fast paced, busy environment
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £7.49-£10.42 per hour
