We have an opportunity for a External Communications Executive to join their team of staff in the Commercial department.
This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. Role based at Circle Health Group's head office.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
Experience:
- Demonstrable experience writing, producing or creating media content to a professional standard.
- Ability to understand and use data.
- Experience of working in or with media at a national or local level. (Desirable).
- Experience leading projects from inception through to completion.
- Demonstrable history of working in teams with a variety of skills, expertise and background.
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree-level education.
- Strong writing ability.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with media monitoring tools and journalist databases. (Desirable but not essential).
- Understanding of both PR and Media Relations activity in relation to brand reputation.

Duties of this role include:
- Support our hospitals, sites and services in raising their profile through local media coverage, in print, online and broadcast media.
- Actively seek to duplicate local media successes achieved at one site with similar stories in other locations.
- Research, report and analyse media activities, sharing insights and best practice with internal stakeholders.
- Develop relationships with our hospitals, sites and services in order to understand and develop opportunities for media activity.
- Write press releases, case studies, social media posts, blog posts and other PR materials.
- Pitch stories to journalists by phone and email.
- Develop relationships with relevant journalists and respond to incoming media enquires in a timely and professional manner.
- Drive an increase (in absolute terms) of positive and neutral media coverage, while working to protect the company’s reputation in the media.
- Work with clinicians and external partners to ensure our messaging is medically accurate and the values of Circle Health Group are presented in a consistent and credible manner.
- Provide regular evaluation of media coverage and messaging sentiment with reference to best practice PR measurements.
- Keep an accurate record of media relations activity.
- Any administrative, event management, communications or commercial communications activities as needed by the business.
- Commitment to ensuring quality services are delivered to both internal and external stakeholders through continuous improvement activities.
- Compliance with all Policies and Procedures relevant to your role, ensuring you are fully aware of your responsibilities within these policies.
- To demonstrate awareness of regulatory requirement, taking appropriate action to ensure these requirements are implemented and adhered to.
- To be aware of your responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. To ensure you are aware your responsibilities, supporting policies and undertake the appropriate level of training for your role.
- To ensure appropriate measures are taken in respect of Health and Safety for staff, visitors and contractors.
- To undertake specific role related competencies and learning, ensuring 100% compliance of all relevant mandatory training within the required timescale.
