Job Title: Legal Assistant – Vulnerable Client Team, Canterbury Office
Full/part time: Full time

The highly respected Vulnerable Client Team specialises in dealing with complex issues affecting vulnerable clients and boasts a wealth of knowledge and expertise.
An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Firm’s Canterbury office assisting the Vulnerable Client Team.
The role involves monitoring client bank statements and account information, maintaining records and producing income and expenditure statements (money in/money out) on a monthly basis, recording balances and monitoring transactions generally. The role is pivotal to compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules. Full training will be provided and there will be scope for professional development for the right candidate.
There is an option of flexible working with a combination of office and home working, after an initial settling in period.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Firm’s in-house Costs Team and will assist them in the preparation of Deputyship Reports and support the Costs Team in filing bills for assessment by the Courts and preparing professional fee budgeting reports.
You should possess excellent numeracy skills coupled with an eye for detail.

Duties:
· Checking client bank statements and bank account information and maintaining records and producing monthly income and expenditure statements.
· Producing monthly statements and accounts.
· Recording balances and monitoring transactions.
· Assisting in the preparation of Deputyship Reports and supporting the Costs Team in filing bills of costs for assessment by the Courts and preparing professional fee budgeting reports.
· Providing general administrative support within the Vulnerable Client Team.
Previous experience
Previous experience in accountancy and/or a costs background is preferred. Similarly, experience of Microsoft Excel, Costs Master, or Peppermint would be an advantage but is not a pre-requisite as full training will be given.
Technical Knowledge:
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
· Excellent numeracy and analytical skills.

· An attention to detail coupled with an ability to work under pressure.
