Cordell and Co is a family run Solicitors firm based in Dorking, Surrey. Chris Cordell set up the practice thirty years ago and since then two generations of Cordells have worked at the firm. We maintain a family ethos within the firm to this day. We specialise in Personal Injury Claims. We are looking for an individual to join our successful company who is looking for an opportunity to start off or maintain their legal career. This role will teach or advance your understanding of litigation law and the process of these claims. The successful candidate will be required to come into the office in person to carry out all aspects of their job.
This role is within our New Business department in the office. The role will require the successful candidate to assess all new cases which come into the firm whilst working part of a team, speak to a variety of clients and set up the new cases. This role will allow you to make delegated decisions on cases and discuss contracts with clients.
The main responsibilities for this role are:
· Assessing new enquiries and deciding whether we can act for a client
· Explaining and discussing contracts to clients
· Preparing the paperwork for the contracts
· Working to targets
· Answering incoming calls to clients, third parties, medical agencies and many more
· Processing incoming contracts and preparing for the next stage of the claim
· Managing emails
· Operating the case management system
· Updating enquiries and current clients
We take on road traffic claims, employers liability claims, occupiers liability claims, public liability claims, motor insurance bureau claims and uninsured claims, criminal injury compensation authority claims, package holiday claims, clinical negligence claims and high value claims. This would enable you to be exposed to many different areas of personal injury law.

Salary: £23,000.00 per year
