Legal and Compliance Assistant
Job Description
The position is available in Tantinet (UK) Limited (the Company) based in
Canary Wharf, London, as part of a group of small-mid size global companies
(the Group) which are engaged in regulatory compliance, fintech and
brokerage businesses. As a Legal and Compliance Assistant, the candidate
will expect to provide support to the management, members and clients
across its business functions.
The duties include, but not limited to:
- Support Compliance Officer / MLRO, Legal and Compliance Analyst,
and Board (the Team) to effectively deliver the documentation and
services required by the Company and the Group from time to time;
- Handle and research on multiple projects, prepare documents, brief
papers, reports, presentations, etc.;
- Assist the Team in draft, amend and review legal, regulatory and
commercial documents;
- Assist the Team to create, maintain and keep up to date standard
forms of legal and regulatory documentation.
- Assist the Company to develop and maintain a filing / reporting
system, manage multiple filings / reports and their deadlines set out
by relevant authorities, including, without limitation, Companies
House, HMRC, FCA, and etc.
- Communicate with internal / external stakeholders and provide
documents as required.
- Keep the Company and the Group up to date with changes in
regulatory, legal and market practice.
- Liaise with Operations Team on client onboarding process and review
the applications for compliance / MLRO approval and sign off.
- Assist with regulator review of contracts, company registers and books,
policies and procedures, etc., ensure that they are properly approved,
signed, updated and documented.
- Deal with routine correspondence, general departmental queries,
administrative tasks and monitor the Compliance Inbox.
- Under take trainings and passing relevant compliance
examination as required from time to time.
- Other jobs within the candidate’s capabilities may be requested from
time to time including any other role that the candidate possess
experience in that the Company and the Group may require you to
fulfil.
Requirements
- LPC, GDL degree in Law or other degree with law element
- Proven experience in legal and compliance operations is preferred
- Previous working experience in Financial Services industry is preferred
- Good understanding of UK Financial Services regulation
- Good level of Microsoft Office
- Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize work and work
under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Quick learner and willingness to taking additional responsibility on an
ad hoc basis
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels
- Attention to detail and a well-organized approach to work
- The capability to work with numerical information, plus analytical and
problem-solving skills
- Integrity and discretion when handling confidential information
- Coping well with high volumes of work and thrives in a fast-paced work
environment
- Trustworthy in dealing with confidential and sensitive information
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Willing to be relocated internationally
