Your responsibilities
We are looking for a Ledger Clerk who will be primarily responsible for the accurate and timely recording of information in the sales and purchase ledgers, as well as some areas of the balance sheet. You will report directly to the Financial Controller, who leads the finance function for the UK business, and work with other team members of the finance team. All team members of this small finance team are expected to support and cover for each other as needed to ensure the smooth running of the function.
- Be responsible for the purchase ledger from checking PO's to processing invoices
- Take care of aged creditor reconciliations and resolve queries
- Set up weekly payment runs
- Create customer and vendor master data in SAP
- Maintain the fixed assets register
- Process voucher refunds and credit notes
- Work on invoice accruals and prepayments and work with our Assistant Accountant to identify possible requirements
- Provide absence cover for other members of the team
- Take care of other ad hoc tasks or projects as required for the efficient operation of the finance function
- Experience of purchase ledger processing, studying towards AAT or qualified
- Well organized way of working paired with a good attention to details and the ability to work independently or in a team
- Fluency in English is mandatory, further languages are a plus
- Strong IT skills are essential for this position - to include Microsoft office and experience with accounting software, SAP B1 knowledge would be useful
