The UCL School of Management is home to UCL’s business and management research and education programmes. The School has forged a reputation for world-leading research and teaching in the areas of innovation management, the creation and growth of technology-intensive organisations, business analytics, and entrepreneurship. The research undertaken at the UCL School of Management has been rated as ‘world-leading’ and ‘internationally excellent’ in the Research Excellence Framework 2021 (REF), placing us 2nd in the UK for Business and Management. The REF is the UK’s system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions. It first took place in 2014, when UCL was ranked the number one UK university for research strength, and 72.5% of UCL School of Management’s research output was deemed to be ‘world-leading’ and ‘internationally excellent’. The REF 2021 results, released on 12 May 2022, show a significant increase in The School of Management’s scores, confirming our position as a leading UK institution producing innovative and disruptive research. This year 95% of our research outputs were deemed ‘world-leading’ and ‘internationally excellent’. The School is a member of the Chartered Association of Business Schools. Our academic staff, comprised of 73 academic and education faculty, is organised around five research groups, Strategy & Entrepreneurship, Organisations & Innovation, Operations & Technology, Marketing & Analytics, and Finance, Accounting & Economics. We offer innovative undergraduate, postgraduate, MBA, MRes & PhD and executive programmes in Management, Entrepreneurship, Business Analytics, Business Information Systems, and Finance, designed to prepare students for leadership roles in the next generation of innovation-intensive organisations. The School is home to over 2,000 students, with more than 55% from outside the UK. The School’s faculty members also come from all over the world, with PhDs from Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Columbia, UCLA, Northwestern, Cornell, Duke, Cambridge, and London Business School among others. About the role
The UCL School of Management is looking to appoint one (1) full-time Lecturer (Teaching) in the broad field of Accounting and Finance, and specifically in financial management and finance-related areas. The post-holder will be expected to design and/or deliver and assess modules at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels. Additionally, the postholder will be involved in dissertation/project supervision, personal tutoring, and a range of citizenship roles within the School and/or the wider UCL. The School of Management seeks to educate creative and entrepreneurial leaders for the complex and interconnected world of the future. All of the School’s students study topics that prepare them to think creatively, understand the potential of technology, and acquire skills that enable them to analyse large volumes of data in a business context. The School also seeks to educate graduates who have an empathetic understanding of managing people and organisations. About you
The post holder will have solid knowledge of theory and practice in a disciplinary area related to financial and a relevant PhD or equivalent Doctorate. the post holder will have significant experience of teaching undergraduates and/or postgraduates and excellent teaching evaluations.
