As an Area Manager you will be responsible for driving the daily performance of a cluster of up to 4 of our Midlands retail stores.
Working closely with your Divisional Manager, this role is to develop, mentor, and train our people to be effective in selling and creating an outstanding customer experience and ensuring the vision of Virgin Atlantic Holidays is maintained.
Day to day
- Deliver and exceed on Key Performance Indicators that are set whilst keeping revenue and contribution as your main priority. As well as identifying trends and opportunities to address key issues.
- To collaborate and communicate across the division ensuring consistency in our approach to our people, customers, and business decisions.
- To deliver and embed operational procedures in stores whilst ensuring booking quality and standards are followed to maintain the customer's experience.
- Supervise and ensure all Health & Safety practices are being adhered to in location and ensure your direct reports are fully trained in all aspects of health and safety. This would also include conducting in-location audits of food & beverage.
- Maintain in-store visual standards and merchandising in line with business standards & focuses.
- Using the Divisional marketing budget to identify local opportunities to drive commercial demand, as well as being the lead on recruiting staff for your stores when required.
- Act as a customer concern point for any issues across your area whilst ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to
- Lead and coach your team of 21 direct reports of in store supervisors and advisors.
- To Deputise for the Divisional Manager in their absence and take on additional responsibilities at their request.

About you
Are you a self-motivated individual who wants to make a difference to our Midlands team.
We're looking for our successful candidate to demonstrate the following:
- Strong People Leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop and lead a team.
- Experience in delivering analysis to a high standard and working to tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment, this could be the role for you!
- Flexibility with shown communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, whilst working within a sophisticated and changing business environment
- Ability to influence across key partners - internal and external
- Consistent track record of operational and sales delivery preferably in a face to face environment
- A high level of influencing and communication skills are needed.
- You'll need strong commercial awareness & foresight with a forward-thinking approach
- You will need to balance the needs of the individual, operational and commercial requirements and therefore you must have excellent judgement and decision-making skills
- Experience in managing teams small-medium teams in a multi site environment would be an advantage.
