Background of department/role
Reflecting the continued growth of our Undergraduate and Postgraduate Primary Initial Teacher Education (ITE) courses, the School of Teacher Education is seeking to appoint 2 x Lecturers/Senior Lecturers to contribute to teaching, research and leadership in the Primary age-phase.
The successful candidate will be a primary specialist with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). You will be an enthusiastic and experienced professional who will deliver an outstanding student experience across courses in Primary ITE, including BA (Hons) Primary Education (full-time) and PGCE Primary Education. Demonstrating in-depth knowledge and understanding of the primary National Curriculum, and the ability to teach across the primary ITE curriculum (including a comprehensive understanding of the Core Content Framework), you will have a track record in leading the development of innovative pedagogies that improve learning outcomes for all.
You will be willing to travel to partnership schools in support of our trainees and their mentors in placement and be committed to building positive relationships across the ITE partnership. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to research in the School of Teacher Education.
For the Senior Lecturer post it is expected the candidate will undertake a leadership role within the School as determined by the requirements of Primary Education.
