The successful candidate will be able to reliably commute to London and Canterbury respectively as and when required.

The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Education offers a diverse range of high-quality courses across contemporary and traditional areas of study in Arts, Humanities and Education. Within the Faculty, the School of Teacher Education is a large academic School that delivers courses in the four discrete, but inter-linked, areas of Primary Initial Teacher Education (ITE), Secondary ITE, Further Education & Skills ITE, and Professional Learning.

The School is committed to excellence in teaching, learning and the student experience, as well as growing a positive research and postgraduate culture. This role is situated within Further Education and Skills age-phase – an area that comprises undergraduate and postgraduate Initial Teacher Education leading to Qualified Teaching in the Learning and Skills Sector status (QTLS).

The successful candidates will have experience teaching in the Further Education and Skills (FES) sector and experience of mentoring or teaching FES trainee teachers. You will be an enthusiastic and experienced professional who is committed to delivering an outstanding student experience across our undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Demonstrating an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the FES sector, the successful candidate will have a record in leading on the implementation of innovative pedagogies that improve outcomes for all learners.

Quality assurance of franchised courses is a critical element of Academic Link Tutor responsibilities, with particular attention afforded to mentoring and mentor training. Depending on your experience and/or qualifications, you might also be expected to contribute to teaching on our PGCE FE course (full-time and part-time). The successful candidate will contribute to the School of Teacher Education in a broader sense, including undertaking research on an individual or team basis.

For the Senior Lecturer post it is expected the candidate will undertake a leadership role within the School as determined by local requirements.
